Dr. Melanie Thornton
At Pneuma Natural, I'm dedicated to helping my clients achieve optimal health and wellness through natural and holistic methods. I believe that true healing occurs when we address the root cause of our health concerns rather than simply treating the symptoms. Through a combination of Natural, Botanical, Nutritional and Functional Medicine along with lifestyle coaching, I work to empower my clients to take control of their health and wellbeing from the inside out.
Whether you're struggling with hormonal imbalances, digestive issues, chronic pain, autoimmune conditions, fatigue, chronic conditions, or unexplained symptoms - we'll work together to develop a personal and whole person plan to rebuild and restore true health and healing. This is a total health reset plan!
I'm fully committed to partnering with my clients in the journey, and have developed a process to truly get to know each other, and the full picture of your life and wellness goals. Beginning with a Discovery Call and 1:1 individualized 2 hour Connect Session, we'll dig deep to discover underlying root causes of symptoms, identify barriers to healing, and create achievable wellness goals with tools and resources to get there. The 3 month follow-up program includes 3 (1 hour) monthly check-ins to measure progress and discuss concerns, texts with me anytime for quick questions, and access to a monthly Pneuma Community Zoom call!
For established clients only, I'm available for as needed appointments for acute symptoms or concerns that may come up. Natural Medicine offers effective and whole-person support for colds, flu, minor injuries, chronic symptoms, new diagnoses, mental health issues, skin issues, digestive concerns, hormonal imbalances, and so much more. I value working with primary care physicians in integrative, whole person care, and will always refer a client to a state licensed medical physician should care be required outside my scope of practice.
Natural Medicine incorporates the use of natural elements and therapies to help the body heal itself. Our bodies are amazing and complex, and when given the right tools and environment, are designed to heal. Natural medicine addresses environmental and product toxins, anti-aging and longevity, stress management, spa therapies, biochemic medicine, using earth, air, water, heat, and sunlight as healing agents, and so much more!
Botanical medicine utilizes plants as powerful preventative, curative, and restorative medicine. Every culture on earth uses plant medicine, and it's believed that every symptom has a matching plant remedy. Whether it's flower essences for balancing emotions, herbs for physical healing, medicinal mushrooms for immune boosting, or plants for non-toxic beauty products - botanicals are essential in the natural healing toolbox.
Nutritional Medicine is the embodiment of "food as medicine". A good diet is the foundation of building good health. Kitchen cleanouts, food sourcing, grocery shopping, cooking classes, reading labels, identifying toxic ingredients and menu planning.
Let food be thy medicine, and medicine be thy food.
—Hippocrates
Functional Medicine gives us information and equips us with the knowledge about what's going on in our bodies. Testing hair, blood, saliva, urine, skin, and stool can show us:
Nutritional and hormonal imbalances
Heavy metal or toxin overload
Thyroid function
Bacterial, viral, or fungal infections
Our response to EMF (electromagnetic fields)
Food sensitivities or allergies
Triggers for auto or pre-autoimmunity
Gut and microbiome health
What changes we can make to help prevent disease progression and reverse symptoms.
Functional testing helps us find the optimal range for our bodies to function well.
Holistic Medicine considers the whole person in health and well-being. We look at how lifestyle, culture, family, spirituality, work, relationships, and all areas of life play a part in our health. Through life coaching, we can work together to bring EVERY area of life into balance.
Disclaimer
A holistic doctor is both a healer and a teacher, embodying the original meaning of the Latin word docere (to teach). As such, I do not diagnose, prescribe, prevent, or treat illness. Rather, I work to partner with people to educate, provide resources, make discoveries, and support complete health and wellbeing utilizing natural, botanical, nutritional, functional, and holistic modalities. I am not a state-licensed medical doctor (M.D.), but I value working in collaboration with primary care physicians as an advocate for the best whole-person care for my clients.
